Gritty Chix Mud Run

Gritty Chix Mud Run is BACK at ACE Adventure Resort. This June, get ready to get muddy for a good cause. Solo or with a team, Gritty Chix is all about FUN. Whether you walk, sprint, skip or dance through the course we promise you’ll be challenged a little and laugh A LOT. Cut loose! Costumes, glitter, face paint, and anything in between are encouraged!

Voted the #1 Mud Run/Adventure Race in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic in the 2020 Blue Rider Readers’ Choice Awards by Blue Ridge Outdoors magazine, this is the PERFECT race for veterans and first timers alike. A portion of the proceeds from Gritty Chix Mud Run helps to support the New River Conservancy.

You choose – the 5k Tenacious Trail or the Moxie Mile?

Both woodland trails converge on the mud obstacle course, with a few additional mud-holes on the Tenacious Trail. Obstacles have varying degrees of difficulty, but all are manageable. Upper body strength is helpful and you have the option to bypass any obstacle you’re not comfortable tackling. Our motto: go for it before going around it!  It’s all about excitement, laughter, and camaraderie so we encourage applause, hoots, hollers, and lending a helping hand. Water and first aid are stationed along the trails and at the finish line.

After you rinse off at the finish line, hop on one of our shower shuttles before heading down to The Lost Paddle to refuel and catch the FREE live music! The fun doesn’t have to stop there. ACE is the largest outdoor adventure resort in the eastern US. Zipline through the treetops with unbeatable views of the New River Gorge, explore numerous hiking trails and overlooks on property or add a waterpark pass and tackle the blob or relax beachside. When all the fun has been had, slip away to your private cabin or end the day around a campfire at your favorite campsite with friends.

Gritty Chix t-shirts will be available in limited sizes and quantities in the Welcome Center on event day. Registrations received by Apr 30th include a FREE Gritty Chix t-shirt to be picked up at the event check-in.

Food And Drinks
With several dining options at the resort we have your pre and post race meals covered. Need a pre race pick me up? Check out our new coffee bar! Our baristas have perfected the classics and come up with some new creations of their own. The Lost Paddle will be open early for breakfast. After the race check out our chef’s version of updated American classics. Feeding the whole crew? Grab a pizza from Woody’s, our award winning, made to order wood fired pizza joint. As always, the Lost Paddle bar will be open to serve you a large selection of ice cold craft and domestic beers, hand crafted cocktails and wine.

Waivers… everyone needs one!
Please complete the General Liability waiver HERE prior to your arrival. Select the event date 6/22/24 and click NEXT. Then select “Special Events” and “Gritty Chix.” This will speed up your check-in process so you can get to the good stuff sooner.

After getting muddy for a great cause stick around and jam with us on the deck of The Lost Paddle. Band information will be coming soon. Free shows and music kicks off at 4pm outside on the deck.

The staff, board of directors, and volunteers of New River Conservancy are dedicated to protecting the waters, woodlands, and wildlife of the the New River Watershed. The New River winds its way through three states and countless communities who have depended on its bounty for generations. We are here to protect it and to ensure that the waters that feed it are clean; that the land supports vibrant plants and animals; and that the communities that rely on it are passionate and empowered advocates for a healthy New River.
